Back from the sickly graveyard

It's been a while since I have written to you blog, but for good reason! Rhonen and I have been enduring what might well have been the worst cold in history. First Rhonen became ill and it was 5 hellish nights of waking up every 2 hours screaming and coughing, stuffed up and unable to nurse. I felt like a walking zombie!

We went to the Doctor and she said it was an ear infection. Then I came down with this horrendous cold. 24 hour sinus headache, congestion, painful cough, sore throat, and it goes on. Today I finally feel like a normal person and I can see the light! So hopefully there will be some more posts this coming week because Rhonen is doing some super cute stuff.

8 months old

This post is a couple days late...oh well, it's here now. It's amazing how much can change in one month. Rhonen is now sitting and standing very well. In fact, all he wants to do is stand...on whatever he can find. He stands in his crib, he stands at the table, he stands at his activity center, dishwasher, bathtub, and just about everything else. This has lent itself to a lot of bumps and bruises along the way, but I guess he has to learn sometime.

With all the extra activity he sure is eating...a lot! He's hungry every 2 1/2 hours and we had to start giving him a bottle at 11pm. He is also graduating to finger foods, which he finds very liberating. Each occasion he starts talking, ya ya ya...ie ie ie...it's very cute. This past week he had a little growth spurt and is now busting out of the 12 month size...the transition to 18 months seems like a big jump to me but I guess it's better too big than too small.

This month has also brought the beginning of intense protesting, which he has never done before but now is a regular occurrence. He usually stops within a few minutes and sometimes I find it difficult to hold back the laughter. This is his transitional period from baby to toddler and I find it fascinating to watch!
